Germany’s longest running drum & bass label Basswerk continues from where it’s sublime Christmas
compilation left off with an album in two parts from Cologne’s ‘Trentemoller of drum & bass’, Dizplay. Whilst
disc one sees the focus largely on the dance floor, skipping from raw and brooding D&B through to the more
liquid, ethereal vibe it’s on disc two that the shift really happens. Demonstrating a much more mature sound
to his debut album ‘Beautiful Bytes’ from 2006, CD2 sees Dizplay downing the BPM’s and showing off his
ability to produce stunningly beautiful downbeat electronica with inklings of future garage and dusbtep along
the way. A fantastic club & clouch album from Basswerk who continue to push the boundaries of traditional
D&B labels, always remaining true to their original ethos.
