Jazzsteppa are an internationally acclaimed electronic music duo who combine cutting-edge digital production with
acoustic instruments, fusing hard-line sounds with dixieland, jazz and blues to create a unique brand of dance music. Their
pioneering way of working - they are widely credited as the first dubstep artists to perform live and record with acoustic
instruments - has set them apart from other producers, allowing them to create a sound that is wholly unique and utterly
contemporary at the same time.
So next up on Studio Rockers we have the hugely infectious 'Raising The Bar' which features the inimitable vocals of UK
hip-hop heavyweights Foreign Beggars. This will be the lead single from Jazzsteppa's forthcoming album 'Hyper Nomads',
due also in June 2011. Their high energy hybrid of dubstep and grime ascertains Jazzsteppa's exceptional capabilities for
generic defiance and is no doubt set to be a massive hit! The original will be accompanied by three awesome remixes from
Stray, Wascal & Nuphlo.
Original Mix - The hyped energy of 'Raising The Bar' does exactly that with driving, strenuous drum patterns combined
with an infectious, introductory synth that sets the tone for what's to come. Punchy, revitalising vocals of one the UK's
most successful hip-hop clans united with low frequency dubstep make for a track oozing with full-on funk, ready to rock
the dance floor. Wait for the naughty switch up at the end too…dangerous!
Stray Remix - The vigour of 'Raising The Bar' is then taken to new levels by Stray who turns up the dial on the BPM
counter to deliver an amen frenzied D&B remix. Power-house breaks and deep sub run things here as the Beggars' vocal is
forced to submit to the badboy, bone–shaking beats. Junglists…time to brock out!
